The Marriage Prayer Challenge

What might God do if you said a simple prayer every day for your spouse?

Have you ever thought about this question? It seems so simple but I know I have thought about it and then quickly became distracted by other things in my life.

Tonight Geoff and I will be participating in a wonderful event through our church, St. James UMC. We will be attending "A Evening for Couples" which hopes to answer the question posed above. Our church is bringing in David Delk one of the authors of the book, The Marriage Prayer Challenge. David will speak on the importance of prayer in marriage and the steps to building a thriving marriage. During the event each couple will receive a copy of David’s book, and have an opportunity to sign up for a 6-week follow-up group to discuss the book. I can't wait to share in such an important message tonight. I'm also looking forward to reading the book and taking part in the 21-day marriage prayer adventure with Geoff.

I believe in working to better your marriage everyday and what a great way to do that with the help from prayer. Prayer changes things because God answers prayers.

If you would like more information about the program or how to bring this to your church, small group, or class click here for the link to the Marriage Prayer Challenge website.

Here is the prayer for each person to pray:

Father, I said, "Till death do us part"-I want to mean it. Help me love You more than her/him, and her/him more than anyone or anything else. Help me bring her/him into Your precence today. Make us one, like You are three-in-one. I want to hear her/him, support her/him, and serve her/him- So she/he would love You more and we can bring You glory. Amen
