Shutterfly Post

Hello to everyone, I am having the most difficult time keeping up with my blog recently so I am going to try again.

I have been making Christmas cards the past 3 years using Shutterfly as I keep most of my pictures updated on tha website. I love using Shutterfly as there are so many designs to choose from and a very reasonable prices, especially if you send out lots of cards. I have two designs to choose between right now so all I have to do is make my finally decision before ordering and picking them up at Target. I have a wonderful opportunity to receive 50 free Christmas cards by blogging about Shutterfly's great new cards and their service. Check it out here for your chance.

I would suggest that if you haven't found great Christmas/Holiday cards to head over to Shutterfly to find some great ones. Here are a few of my favorites,

I think I am going to go with the Holly Jolly card but you will just have to see when you open up your card this year!

I hope you have a great day and take advantage of this special offer!

Ellery Jane Timmerman

Two weeks ago I was able to head back to Fort Worth and meet my best friend's little girl for the first time! Meeting Ellery was one of the best days and being able to see Beth and Shelby love on their daughter was so amazing. We have waited for this blessing and she is finally here. I had a wonderful time loving on her and and her parents while I was at home for the weekend.

Me with Miss Ellery, she and her mother came to my parents house for dinner with my family and she slept the entire time. We were shocked because there were six women there passing her back and forth getting in our "Ellery time".

It is amazing to me to have known Beth for more than 20 years and now be able to share in the birth of our own children (mine to come later :) ). I love the fact that almost all of our friends have their own children, pregnant right now or are planning on them right now. What a wonderful time in our lives!
Here are a couple more pictures of Miss E and her mommy, Beth. Thank you Beth for letting me share in your joy and I am so proud to be called Aunt Katy!

James 1: 17-18: Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows. He chose to give us birth through the word of truth, that we might be a kind of firstfruits of all he created.

What's Your Decorating Personality?

I just took this quiz on www.realsimple.com found out my personality is considered Cozy Casual. Boy, does this have me to a tee or what, fuzzy slippers and any movie by Nancy Meyers (I love them all-Baby Boom, It's Complicated, Somethings' Gotta Give, etc. My fave of all time is Father of The Bride!!!)

Here is what Cozy Casual is: You’re about comfort and warmth, favoring warm, traditional rooms made for relaxing with family and friends. Your ideal decor draws on English and early-American furniture designs, as well as laid-back country, cottage, and farmhouse styles. Weathered, low-maintenance furnishings are easy, inviting, and built for daily life. Think golden retrievers, fuzzy slippers, and just about any movie by Nancy Meyers.

I hope you have fun finding out what decorating style you have! Enjoy :)

The Marriage Prayer Challenge

What might God do if you said a simple prayer every day for your spouse?

Have you ever thought about this question? It seems so simple but I know I have thought about it and then quickly became distracted by other things in my life.

Tonight Geoff and I will be participating in a wonderful event through our church, St. James UMC. We will be attending "A Evening for Couples" which hopes to answer the question posed above. Our church is bringing in David Delk one of the authors of the book, The Marriage Prayer Challenge. David will speak on the importance of prayer in marriage and the steps to building a thriving marriage. During the event each couple will receive a copy of David’s book, and have an opportunity to sign up for a 6-week follow-up group to discuss the book. I can't wait to share in such an important message tonight. I'm also looking forward to reading the book and taking part in the 21-day marriage prayer adventure with Geoff.

I believe in working to better your marriage everyday and what a great way to do that with the help from prayer. Prayer changes things because God answers prayers.

If you would like more information about the program or how to bring this to your church, small group, or class click here for the link to the Marriage Prayer Challenge website.

Here is the prayer for each person to pray:

Father, I said, "Till death do us part"-I want to mean it. Help me love You more than her/him, and her/him more than anyone or anything else. Help me bring her/him into Your precence today. Make us one, like You are three-in-one. I want to hear her/him, support her/him, and serve her/him- So she/he would love You more and we can bring You glory. Amen

Susie Homemaker...

Lately I have been in the mood to decorate, sew, cook, etc. I don't know what happened but it seems tht I have been blessed by the creative fairy and hopefully I will be able to use these new ideas to make wonderful things for myself and others.

I just found this idea of making a burlap wreath from a blog I follow, The Nester, and she got this idea from here. I can't wait to hit Hancock fabrics for some burlap later today. I really enjoy the look of burlap, very rustic and can be elegant at the same time. I even wanted to use burlap for the tablecloths at my wedding but was vetoed right away by my mother. Oh well I have found a new way of using this great material.

The instructions seem pretty easy and you don't need to many ingredients ( I know that's a cook term but I can't seem to use another word, strips of burlap and a wire hanger and a ribbon to finish it off. I hope you take a chance and make one of these for your home or if I get really good at them I can make you one. :) Click on the links above to get the full instructions.

Let's get crafting!!!
